Ashanté Tarentaal

Our Ashanté hails from New Horizons, Plettenberg Bay. She joined Born in Africa in her final year at Harkerville Primary School, after which she started high school at Plett Secondary. Ashante completed her senior school phase at Wittedrift High in 2024. She has always been fascinated by the world of digital communication and the impact it has had on the world we live in now. Advertising and its incredible power have had Ashante intrigued ever since she can remember. In 2025, she fulfilled her lifelong dream by obtaining her 1-year National Senior certificate in Advertising and Digital marketing at the renowned Red and Yellow Creative School of Business in Cape Town. This is a huge step for Ashante and her family who are rooting for her all the way. We are really proud of her, who was Born in Africa’s first student to be studying at this very forward-thinking tertiary institution, into a world which certainly has earned its place in the job market.
