BIA chairman Remi De Backer and his wife Lieve de Backer received an award at the annual Anton Van Wilrode poem competition. Cyriel Paul Coupé (28 June 1918 – 15 June 1998) was a Belgian writer and poet, also known by the pseudonym Anton van Wilderode. His poetry is characterized by the usage of a traditional poetic form and clear language combined with a romantic style.
The competition is an annual event where students are invited to enter a poem – topic carte blanche. Born in Africa entered the competition last year and had 2 students win in the Afrikaans category.
Congratulations Lieve and Remi and thank you for all you do for Born in Africa!
