Renesha grew up in Green Valley in a small home with her mother Annie and father Rico. Her parents separated at a very critical part of her development as a young person and although very painful for her she completed her high school successfully.

I’m currently studying Bachelor of education in intermediate phase for grade 4 -7 at Varsity College in Port Elizabeth, which I started in 2022.
Chandre grew up in Kurland Village in The Crags (about 20 km east of Plettenberg Bay). Chandre, her mother, stepfather and younger sister live in a small RDP house (Rural Development Programme).
Anelisa grew up in Kranshoek and was accepted into the Born in Africa program when she was in Harkerville Primary school, along with her older sister Sixolile.
After graduating at Wittedrift High in 2015, Alexis applied to study nursing at university level, however, was not accepted. This did not deter this young lady whose passion is to take care of those in need.
When she was in primary school, she joined the Born in Africa program already and we remember her very fondly as the girl with the two long ponytails!
