Cameron Stuurman is a young man with a serious calling to become a doctor. He started by embarking on an EDP year in 2012 at Stellenbosch University, after not being accepted for the Bachelor of Human Science.

Tammy joined the Born in Africa programme when she was in Gr 8 and already a scholar of Wittedrift High. She was selected because of her academic excellence and her dedicated nature which enabled her to always look to the top for her goals. Tammy excelled on the sports field with Tug of War and she took ballet since her primary school days.

At the end of 2017, Mervin September graduated after completing his four year Electrical Engineering National Diploma at South Cape College (SCC) in Mossel Bay.

Denilson hails from the community of The Crags and attended the primary school there when he was little. When he was in grade 7, his parents approached Born in Africe asking for assistance as they wanted to send their son to Van Kervel High school, a skills school in George.

Zodwa Thandathu left her high school as she was not performing academically. She realised that her talents were more practically orientated.

Nursing has been Euné’s lifelong dream. She wanted to become a nurse since her primary school days. Born in Africa has ensured that her dream comes true.

Leshwin lives with his mother in a small community called Covie, situated near Natures Valley. His mother raised him and his four siblings as a single parent. This didn’t stop him from giving his best.
