Having struggled with academics at school, Jason really needed assistance in steering his future towards the right direction. For this reason, Born in Africa enrolled him at Damelin College in East London where he has been given the opportunity to complete a year higher certificate in Engineering studies.

Raised single handily by his father in Kranshoek, this young lad graduated at Plettenberg Bay Secondary school in 2019. Always being extremely interested in electrics since a young age, we enrolled him to study a National diploma at Damelin College in East London in 2020. The course was challenging, but Lucian enjoyed every minute of his studies.

Megan Van Tura
Although netball is her highest priority, our Megan also managed to study at Varsity college in Port Elizabeth where she is completed a year course in Events Management. She loved the course and according to her, wants to be the best events planner!

This young man has never let adversity stand in his way. Raised by his single mother and never having had the opportunity to have a relationship with his biological father, he has taken it upon himself to give all his attention to his studies.

This young lady, who has a knack with a pair of scissors is doing exactly what she was born to do! She comes from Kranshoek and graduated from Plettenberg Bay Secondary school in 2019, then completed a 1-year course in hairdressing at the Total Concepts Academy in Port Elizabeth.
Verushka Damons
Verushka is the definition of a busy bee as she is always exploring and busy with all sorts of things. She grew up in Kranshoek with her mom, stepdad and sisters and ever since she was still a primary school learner at Kranshoek primary, we could see the energy and keenness to learn radiating from Verushka.
Kay-Lynn Smith
Our young lady with the pretty smile and ever positive attitude who comes from Kurland Village, The Crags seems to be following in her mother’s footsteps. Her mother is a chef at the Kurland hotel and Kay-Lynn completed a year higher certificate in Events Management which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Evana Le Fleur
Evana hails from Kranshoek, where she attended school at the local primary school. At a young age she was selected there to become part of Born in Africa.
Joslin Sam
Jossy, as she is fondly known, transferred to Wittedrift High from Plett Secondary after we noticed her ability in terms of commitment to really make a positive difference in her life.
