Ellen was born to excel in the sports world. This has always been evident in her excellent performance on the track/field and in the water.
This young lady grew up with her mom in Kurland village, The Crags and has been in Born in Africa since grade 1. Ever since she was in primary school herself, Kelsey had the desire to be a teacher because her role model is Juffrou Koeberg, grade 1 teacher at The Crags primary.
Tertiary student since 2019, Rohlene Jansen, is a real go- getter. Growing up in Kranshoek came with quite a few rough periods for this young lady, but she never gave up and always kept believing in her own abilities and a brighter future.
Sandy hails from the small community Kranshoek where she attended Kranshoek primary and as a young girl got selected for the Born in Africa program.
This young man is destined to succeed in his passions and what he puts his mind to. Tarric lives in a small rural community in Harkerville, about 20 miles west of Plettenberg Bay.
Hi, my name is Jay-lee Martins. I’m from Plettenberg Bay, where I live with my parents and 2 siblings. In 2022 I commenced my tertiary studies at Varsity college, located in Port Elizabeth, where I did the first semester of the Bachelor of commerce Marketing management.
My name is Matuschka Oliphant and I grew up in Kranshoek, Plettenberg bay. I went to Kranshoek Primary for seven years and then to Wittedrift High for five years, where I graduated in 2021.
Zanda Gigi was raised in Kurland Village, The Crags. She went to live with her granny when she was a little girl as her mother could not take care of her due to personal reasons.
Lorna grew up in Kurland Village with her parents, brother and sisters. Even as a child she enjoyed looking after others and helping in the household.
Nazli Majavie is a young lady who grew up in Kranshoek and was part of the Born in Africa program for many years. She always had the aspiration of becoming a lawyer one day,
Jean Pierre hails from the small community of Green Valley just outside Plettenberg Bay. He completed his schooling at Plett Secondary, a public school which services Afrikaans speaking learners from five communities around Plettenberg Bay.
Mizaan joined BIA when she was just 8 years old as a student at the Crags Primary School in Kurland Village, where she was born and raised.
Congratulations to our Roxzane who completed her tertiary studies in 2021. She was born and raised on the outskirts of Plettenberg Bay in a township called Kurland Village, The Crags.
Becoming an Occupational Therapist was Roxanne’s first choice when she applied at university. Due to the university selecting students upon their merit system as well as limited seats per class, Roxanne was selected for her second study choice which is a general degree.
Our Sade, a very focused and motivated young lady who loves business world. She grew up in the Griekwa community of Kranshoek which is situated just West of Plettenberg Bay. She attended Plettenberg Bay Secondary school.
